Innovation
In recognition of the limitations of traditional psychology approaches for certain individuals, our Principle Behaviour Support Practitioner, Michelle Toombs, developed the Behavioural Therapy and Counselling model.
This model is designed specifically for individuals who struggle with emotional regulation, anxiety, angry outbursts, and a lack of insight and understanding of their disability and how it impacts their day-to-day life. Our Behavioural Therapy and Counselling model offers a holistic approach that combines evidence-based behavioural therapy techniques with counselling support.
Our highly trained and experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners work closely with individuals and families to develop a personalised therapy and counselling plan that addresses their unique needs and goals. We use a variety of evidence-based strategies, including cognitive-behavioural therapy and mindfulness techniques, to help individuals develop emotional regulation skills, improve their understanding of their disability, and enhance their overall quality of life.
Building Capacity
At Renew, we understand that every individual is unique, and we are committed to providing personalised support that meets their specific needs. Our Behavioural Therapy and Counselling model is a one-on-one approach that is designed to build the individual's capacity to better manage their behaviour, triggers, and emotions.
Our highly trained and experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners work closely with each individual to develop a personalised therapy plan that is tailored to their unique needs and goals. We use evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including music and art therapy, play-based capacity building, Collaborative and Proactive Solutions, and Applied Behaviour Analysis methodology.
Our practitioners work collaboratively with an individual's support network, including family members, support staff, and other relevant team members, to ensure that everyone is on the same page and working towards the same goals.
